Samsung teams with O2 for London Olympics promotion

Samsung teams with O2 for London Olympics promotionSamsung is seemingly gripped by Olympics fever. A couple of weeks ago, approximately zero people were surprised to learn that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be the official phone of the Olympics.

Now we’re hearing that O2 has a special London Olympics promotion for those purr-chasing the Samsung Galaxy Note phablet and/or Samsung Galaxy Y(oung).

It seems that the actual phones are relatively unscathed, thank the lord, other than a free back cover with – you guessed it – a Union Jack.

The crux of the promotion is the chance to win what’s called the “Team GB experience package prize” – essentially three pairs of tickets to London Olympics-related events, including a visit to Team GB’s training camp and some sort of party.

Also, a Great British buck from every purchase will go towards “Team GB athletes of the future.” Are we talking robots, here?

Amusingly, clicking “Find out more” on the Samsung site takes you to O2, which in turn refers you back to Samsung “for more info”. Very good, guys. It took several clicks to decipher what the hell was going on.

For more info - for actual more info, as opposed to a random redirect - hit up this Samsung FAQ.

4 billion? try 11 billion+! Olympics is the biggest waste of cash...they'd have been better spending a little more than 14 million on the World Cup bid, a few more bribes and mulberry handbags for wives of the FIFA Exco plus the fact that England already has all the facilities in place would have meant a massive profit, instead we're stuck with the Olympics throwing billions down the toilet.
