Samsung teases ‘something new’ for CES 2013, don't expect the Galaxy S IV

Samsung teases ‘something new’ for CES 2013, don't expect the Galaxy S IVCES 2013 is just a smidgeon over four weeks away (it opens its doors four weeks tomorrow), so this time next month we’ll have a ton of new mobile goodies to digest. Prob’ly.

One manufacturer planning to wow consumers in early 2013 is South Korea’s Samsung, and in the meantime it’s teasing us with an 18-second CES 2013 trailer type thing.

Said Samsung CES trailer appears on YouTube via official channels (SamsungTomorrow), though it doesn’t give too much away. Of course, when I say “too much”, what I really mean is “anything”.

As well as promising “something new” (that goes without saying, surely), Samsung tells us that the “world awaits” – though we’re not quite sure what we’re a-waiting for.

Candidates from ye olde speculatrix machine include some sort of 1080p smartphone (they’re all the rage these days), perhaps something Windows Phone 8-flavoured, and maybe a bigger-than-10in tablet. Why the hell not? Oh, and how about something bendy?

One thing you most definitely shouldn’t expect is the Samsung Galaxy S IV. Earlier this year, in the run up to the Samsung Galaxy S III launch, we had to endure a frankly terrible “Next Galaxy” campaign. When the Samsung Galaxy S IV is imminent, you’ll know all about it.

Think it's safe to say the world isn't awaiting anything Windows Phone 8-flavoured.

Especially after December 21 2012... just kidding.

Wait...there is a tradeshow, and someone has something new to show? Thank gawed for that teaser - we'd never have guessed.

'Course it won't be the S4, it's:
a) Not S4 time of year
b) When has a flagship Galaxy device been launched in the US first?

Do we even see many Samsung phones (that are of any importance to the high-end market) at CES usually?

There's a Titan 2? Didn't even 'register'. And the Xperia S somehow feels like 3 years ago.

No reason it would especially as it was wp7 and us only.

That'll be down to the huge amount of phones they've churned out since...

Not only was it US only, I think it was AT&T only in the US.

CES doesn't interest me at all, roll on MWC (though without Samsung's flagship, even that isn't as exciting any more).
