How do I save photos from my Nokia N8s memory to the memory card?

There are some photos saved on the memory inside my Nokia N8. I want to transfer them on to the memory card instead, how do I do this?

I have a Nokia N8 I have followed the procedure above but when I go into camera, then settings the options I have are image quality, save location info (which then refers to GPS), show capture image, default image name, capture tone, auto-rotate, memory in use....and that's it. Cant seem to find default to memory card? any ideas?

In camera settings you can change the default memory from internal to SD. Or you can use the file manager and move them individually (or in bulk) frome phone memory to SD.

Karen,
A) In camera click on settings and change default memory to memory card.

B ) To move the photos already save in phone memory to your card => open MENU => OFFICE => Files => that lets you explore your file-system. Click on phone memory, find the image folder, or DCIM. Find your pics, click and hold photo you want to move, and choose "move". You'll then be asked where you want to move the file to.
You can also click and hold entire folder and move that.

Alternatively, use the desktop ovi suite. Import all your photos and tidy them on your PC, then move the ones you want on your phone back to the memory card.

Change "Memory in use" to the correct destination.
I changed it to "no name" which seemed to be the name of the memory card, and the pictures are now indeed being stored there instead.

I have lots photos not on memory card and I want them there. Can I do a back up in file manager? It says backing up will override anything on memory card. Will it delete old pics and videos?

koconnor, just connect the N8 to your PC; open phone memory in one window and memory card in another. Then drag'n'drop whichever pics you want.
And don't forget to change camera settings - make memory card the default location for saving.

In menu, apps, office (or tools) open the File Browser. No card?
What if you connect the Nokia N8 to a PC via USB cable in Mass Storage mode? Does the card appear as a drive on your PC in "Computer" (Windows) or in the sidebar in Finder (Mac)? If so, right-click and format the memory card...

Yes? In settings on your N8 go to CONECTIONS; USB-CONECTION. CHANGE from NOKIA SUITE to MASS STORAGE. Or pick "always ask". Then, when you connect your N8 to a PC/Mac, you can see it as a drive (or, if you picked "always ask", you select "USB Storage" when you connect the phone)

I've got an N8.. crap is an understatement. I'm on contract and i've had several replacements cos it crashes ALL the time. I have LOTS of pictures of my son on my phone and now my phone wont even turn on.. anyway of moving files to the computer without turning my phone on? I've asked in store at carphone warehouse and orange.. USELESS. lack of interest to help. HELP ME lol :) x

If it doesn't turn on, and if the PC doesn't 'see' it when connected via USB, I cannot help you.
What happens on a charger? If it rn out completely, it can take 20 minutes before you see any signs of life.

Relatedly, I had 2 N8s and I know folks who still have theirs. Zero problems. Sounds to me as though your are network-branded and the firmware is rubbish???!!!

You can perform a hard reset, but that will delete everything on the phone, and it needs juice to perform that.
Hold "Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key" and press power button until your phone shakes.

Backtrack: If it looks as if your phone has no power, get the battery changed. Then see if you can connect it to the PC via USB to save your files.
Don't go to carphone warehouse for that! Go to a REAL phone repair shop who know how to use a screwdriver!!!! They will sort you out. The N8 is a good phone, you just got a bunch of turkeys :(

Though I fine it more cconvenient to do it while the phon'e connected to the PC. but for a handful of files that way is fine.
