Anyone ever scanned a QR code? ...EVER? ;)

Saw a van drive past with a QR code on its door and thought 'Has anyone scanned one of those in the history of the world?' ;)

I did once. Years ago.
But I know some people do...

When the "jester" - a so-called white hat hacker who's after "anonymous" changed his Twitter
profile pic to an image of a QR code, many many many idiots actually went ahead and scanned it... there are all sorts of myths and rumours as to what he accomplished with it, but he sure knows suckers when he sees some :p

Also, there are still freeware sites for smartphone apps that use QR codes. You see an app you like, you scan the code, and poof, your phone's browser downloads the app. I do assume people use that feature. But in shops and on products? Pfffft....

Quite often on XDA to download APK to my phone.

But more recently I've just been downloading them and putting them in my account so I've got them ready for future devices.

Yes - they're highly convenient for scanning as vouchers at tills. Very big in the hospitality industry.
