Can shower steam damage a phone/iPod?

Can having your phone/iPod in the shower room cause internal damage?
I always thought so, but the latest Apple advert shows someone listening to their iPhone in the shower!

Depends on how hot and how long your showers are?
I'm sure the T&Cs warn of humidity etc...
I don't think your phone will die because of some steam or mist or because you check on a notification during a light shower outside, but the internal water damage indicator may discolour - which could lead to problems with warranty claims.

Yes, each device has acceptable operating conditions. 100% humidity usually not one of them.
I don't see anything from Apple in regards to humidity, so far I only have this.

I never bothered to read iPhone manual, but stuff like that usually in any device manual. If your end user agreement doesn't specify something in regards to humidity manufacturer is required to repair it. Of course, they can always come up with excuses to avoid repairs.
