Why can't I sign into the Android Twitter app?

When I try to sign into the Android Twitter app it says" That account has already been added". And yes I'm definitely trying to sign in as opposed to sign up ;-)

In settings go to manage apps. Find Twitter and press "clear cache" and "clear data". Reboot and try again.
If that fails, uninstall the app... And try again. Or, heck, use Seesmic or Ubersocial - much better than the official app imho.
On Android and BB I have had loadsa probs with the official Twitter app. On my Bold I had to uninstall it because it just wouldn't shut up. Despite the fact that I disabled background update and auto-refresh, it would autoupdate and clusterf*ck my inbox...
