Siri: Nokia Lumia 900 is the best smartphone ever

Siri: Nokia Lumia 900 is the best smartphone everRemember Siri, the janky voice recognition nonsense that supposedly fuelled sales of the iPhone 4S, and that remains exclusive to said smartphone for no good reason?

Well, Siri has spawned a couple of funny stories over the past few months (including this one), but this might be the best yet.

Ask Siri “What is the best smartphone ever?” and you might suspect that the programmed response – thanks to some forward thinking from Apple – would be the iPhone 4S.

But nope, Siri cares not for its host, favouring instead the Windows Phone 7-rocking Nokia Lumia 900. Oh dear.

Siri’s results are provided by Wolfram Alpha, a Computational Knowledge Engine. Wolfram Alpha prides itself on providing a single answer to a given query, rather than a range of possible answers.

Heck, even if you don’t have an iPhone 4S, you can check it out for yourself on the desktop version.

In this case, Wolfram Alpha's answer - the Nokia Lumia 900 - is based on customer review average. Interesting.

The Nokia Lumia 900 landed in the UK this week, smacking various delay rumours in the face. It has a 4.3in AMOLED display, making it the biggest of the Lumia range. ‘Citing.

Not really a Siri thing when it's a clear bug on the Wolfram Alpha database. :p

Probably not a bug - WP fans don't have much to review. So, no surprise that the one 'high' gets loads of good attention, no?
Not being flippant.
Same goes for so-called MeeGo and the N9... The N9 was utterly overrated upon release.
A lot of ex-Symbians wanted it to be better than WP, and some cool folks who got tired of iOS and Android wanted it to be great... Reality is: prior to PR1.2 the N9 was an experiment. Now it's almost a good phone. Yet, its average reviews are way over the top good.

I forget, can the N9 upgrade beyond Symbian Belle?

Hahaha...

nah, don't be annoyed - I recommended WP devices more than once. I have an N9...
And though I hate MS - heck, I don't like anyone, really :p So, once they fix a few things I don't like, I'd buy a WP device...

I forgot, confused it with the N8.

N900 is the Maemo only handset isn't it?

Yes, the N900 sports Maemo. The N9 runs Maemo with a touch of MeeGo... It's not full MeeGo, as usually stated for simplicity's sake...
