Remember Siri, the janky voice recognition nonsense that supposedly fuelled sales of the iPhone 4S, and that remains exclusive to said smartphone for no good reason?
Well, Siri has spawned a couple of funny stories over the past few months (including this one), but this might be the best yet.
Ask Siri “What is the best smartphone ever?” and you might suspect that the programmed response – thanks to some forward thinking from Apple – would be the iPhone 4S.
But nope, Siri cares not for its host, favouring instead the Windows Phone 7-rocking Nokia Lumia 900. Oh dear.
Siri’s results are provided by Wolfram Alpha, a Computational Knowledge Engine. Wolfram Alpha prides itself on providing a single answer to a given query, rather than a range of possible answers.
Heck, even if you don’t have an iPhone 4S, you can check it out for yourself on the desktop version.
In this case, Wolfram Alpha's answer - the Nokia Lumia 900 - is based on customer review average. Interesting.
The Nokia Lumia 900 landed in the UK this week, smacking various delay rumours in the face. It has a 4.3in AMOLED display, making it the biggest of the Lumia range. ‘Citing.
