It's taken a while but finally, square-eyed Android owners can rejoice with the news that Sky Go has finally launched.
The on-demand and live streaming service is up and running for a selection of the more popular Android handsets and there's another bonus: Sky 1, Sky Arts 1 and Sky Living will also be available to watch as well as the likes of Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports, Sky News, Sky Movies and ESPN. The Formula One channel will also be available from next month.
As is often the way, the service launched first for iOS owners - and proved to be a massive hit among them. But one of the issues that Sky faced with Google's OS is the different screen sizes which perhaps explains the delay.
Holly Knill, Head of Sky Go, comments: "We're extremely happy to announce the roll out of Sky Go on selected Android handsets today and the arrival of the Sky Entertainment channels to mobile devices.
"We are always working to ensure that Sky customers have more ways to watch content they love, whether it's the big Premiership game, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Modern Family or Ruth Jones' Stella, and this is exactly what this enhanced version of Sky Go delivers."
If you want it, head on over to the Android Market. Enjoy!
