Sky News iPhone app: take 2

Sky News iPhone app: take 2The popular Sky News app for iPhone, which has been downloaded more than 3 million times, has been revamped, bringing it more in line with its iPad sibling.

Indeed, it’s been given such a significant overhaul that Sky News describes it as “Version 2”. It's looking good so far, with an average 4.5 rating since yesterday's re-launch.

The spanking new Sky News iPhone app is available now, for free of course, and it features:

  • exclusive iPhone content
  • picture galleries, interactive images, graphs and timelines
  • live blogging, including Twitter updates
  • improved navigation and support for dual orientation across all modules
  • a new section for tech news

Andrew Hawken, Head of Editorial for Sky News Digital, crooned: "This is a big step forward for our iPhone app. We are constantly striving to make the user experience the very best across all our platforms. I know our customers will enjoy the more intuitive approach we’ve created within the app as well as the richer and more in depth news experience it offers.”

The Sky News for iPhone app is compatible with iPhones and iPod touches running iOS 4.0 or above.
