Sky and TalkTalk to launch 1GB U.F.O broadband in York this year

In what (we hope) could be the first step in improving internet speeds up and down the country, Sky and TalkTalk have announced they will be launching their new U.F.O broadband service later this year. Standing for "Ultra Fibre Optic", the new service will allegedly be "one hundred times faster than standard broadband" with speeds of 1GB (although we thing the operative words of "up to" are missing there.) The scheme will initially be tested out in York later this year, and interested residents can sign up to be one of the first to use it by heading over to the Ultra Fibre Optic website.
