Habitual leakster @evleaks has been at it again, releasing an official press shot of the upcoming Huawei Ascend P6 which is set to be announced on June 18.
So what's the big deal? Not much, at first glance. But take a closer look at that side profile on the right and you'll see the Ascend P6's most significant physical trait: a chassis that's just 6.18mm thick.
If that rings a bell, then let us take you back to the start of the month when we wrote about a new contender for the world's thinnest smartphone crown – a certain Huawei P6-U06.
The Ascend P6 is one and the same, and is indeed likely to take possibly the most irrelevant title in the smartphone world when it wafts its anorexic way into our collective consciousness a month from now.
It's not bad looking either, with the brushed metal chassis easy to look at in an generically unassuming way.
The @evleaks link to the image (which requires Weibo registration to view) comes to us via Twitter, and doesn't come with any additional info.
However, Engadget reports on another Weibo post by Huawei boss Richard Yu revealing that the Ascend P6's launch will be on the agenda at the company's June 18 event in London.
Based on previous leaks we're expecting a 4.7in 720p display, quad-core 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5MP main camera along with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
We'll keep you posted.
