Slow Samsung Galaxy S3

My Samsung Galaxy S3 is really slow all of a sudden! On the stock firmware.
Is there anything I can do to diagnose what's causing it? Without resorting to restoring?

Found this elsewhere, doesn't seem overly hopeful but worth a go. Other than that have any apps updated lately?

If you haven't rebooted in a while, try that. Otherwise, try powering the phone down, then hold the power + home key + volume up all at the same time. Let go after "samsung" appears. This gets you into stock recovery. Use the volume key to navigate down to "wipe cache" and the power button for yes. Then reboot the phone. I would try this before a factory reset.

Also, if you do factory reset, do it via the above mentioned recovery menu. I'm not sure why but it seems to do a better job of fixing odd bugs than the reset tool built into the OS.

Also how much space is left on internal memories maybe not enough room for all the cache it wants. Assuming it's flexible size.
