I think the HTC Rezound has the highest DPI, a 4.3" 1280x720 screen. I'm not sure if it's higher than the iPhone's "Retina" display (which is simply a high PPI LCD display, "Retina" is just a marketing term).

There's a DPI/PPI Calculator here:

I just did the calculations, the HTC Rezound in fact does have a higher PPI than the "Retina" display on the iPhone 4/4S.

if only htc weren't total idiots and had released that phone here. such a shame they had a shot at improving their fortunes and blew it.

It works on GSM networks, import one and you're sorted.

maybe so. but why cant companies just remove the LTE stuff and create a mass market version ... its not that hard surely.

It is if Verizon splashed the cash to have exclusive rights to the phone (which I assume they did as it's only available on one network in one country).

The LTE SIM card slot isn't locked and any GSM network SIM card will work in the phone. Even the 3G works AFAIK.

Verizon keeps fighting AT&T iPhone by picking up Android. They desperately need something better to beat iPhone. Releasing same phone with GSM (on AT&T) would not help them in any way.

GSM iPhone is much better than CDMA iPhone and there is no reason to pick one up unless you are in love with Sprint or Verizon.

Isn't the iPhone 4S both CDMA and GSM capable across all models? I thought it was a true world phone. I may have got the wrong end of the stick though, CDMA networks aren't my strong point.

Lol, I think you need to retract that statement now. We're getting far better phones than the Rezound.

True that, by all accounts the Rezound wasn't a great phone anyway. Despite that, even with all the MWC announcements the Rezound still has the highest PPI of any phone :p.

5 year old CDMA implementation. In common terms, it has 3G, but no HSDPA. Can't call and have data at the same time. Cannot switch between parties on call waiting.

For Verizon
Also known as HTC Vigor, HTC ThunderBolt 2, HTC Droid Incredible HD, HTC ADR6425
This is not a GSM device, it will not work on any GSM network worldwide.

Which Rezound that works on GSM are you guys on about? oO

matt101101 / MOD  Apr. 14, 2012 at 13:13

The Rezound has a SIM card slot for its LTE capability. That SIM card slot takes a bog standard GSM SIM card quite happily, allowing the Rezound to work on a GSM network.

Who has got them working here? I don't see any videos on them using a GSM sim.

Erm, there's at least one thread talking about it on XDA.

Import cost will put most people off tho, though I did see one seller offer free delivery...

Oh, I wasn't suggesting buying a Rezound and getting it imported was economically viable, just that using a Rezound in the UK is technically possible.
