We're all for getting full value for that pricey new smartphone you've just invested in, but new data reveals we could be taking the concept a little far.
According to phone maker Ericsson, fully 35% of smartphone users hit their favourite apps before even getting out of bed in the morning, and keep up a steady pace throughout the rest of the day.
You can check out the stats for yourself in the handy bar chart above, but it speaks for itself: more than one in three have already tapped into their smartphone's non-voice abilities by the time they pull back the bedclothes first thing in the morning.
From then on our smartphone usage pattern is fairly constant throughout the day, the only significant dip coming over dinner – though a quarter of us still reckon that's still a perfectly reasonable time to log into Facebook and the like.
The full 16-page Ericsson report (PDF) goes into plenty more detail on our use of other telecoms technologies, and has plenty more bar charts too if that's the kind of thing that floats your boat.
