To be fair, there’s not a great deal happening at IFA 2014 that we’re not fully braced for (er, bona fide surprises aside), but for what it’s worth, Sony has given semi-official confirmation of a couple of its imminent goodies.
The Japanese manufacturer has “accidentally” leaked a new Sony SmartWatch and what appears to be the rumoured Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Interesting.
Over on Facebook, Sony is happy to talk about its new SmartBand and the Xperia M2 Aqua, both waterproof incidentally, but a picture (above) – now removed at the source, but shared across the cyberwebs – appears to show two devices it hasn’t officially announced yet.
The first is very much watch-like in shape, and definitely a different wearable than the aforementioned SmartBand. Hello Sony SmartWatch 3?
The other looks a little bigger than a smartphone, possibly even too big to be a “phablet”, which means we could be talking Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. It’s been rumoured in recent weeks with an 8in display, and even appeared in an official Sony manual.
It’s looking like September 3 for Sony’s IFA 2014 keynote, and other candidates for launch – in addition to the SmartWatch 3 and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact – include the Xperia Z3 smartphone, and possibly an Xperia Z3 Compact.
