What a bizarre situation we find ourselves in with the Japanese/Swedish alliance. On the one hand Sony is in the process of buying out Ericsson, but simultaneously we’re hearing lots of good things about the dual-core Nozomi.
I scribbled about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD a couple of days ago and wondered aloud if it and the long-rumoured Nozomi (the manufacturer’s first dual-core effort) might in fact be one and the same. This latest leakage would suggest that that’s so.
Five new pictures of the Sony Ericsson Nozomi (LT26i, should ye care) have found their way onto the worldwide interweb. It looks quite nice, and the specs are sounding pretty great too.
Again we’re hearing 720p display (4.3in), with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and some super-sexy camera action.
According to Phone Arena, the Sony Ericsson Nozomi will have a 12MP Exmor R shooter, capable of 9MP capture at 16:9 or a full dirty dozen at 4:3.
One of those five snapshots indicates that the Sony Ericsson Nozomi is currently running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), but with an expected debut at Mobile World Congress in February, we expect it’ll ship with Ice Cream Sandwich.
To be fair to Sony Ericsson, it’s been pretty good at shipping devices with Gingerbread this year. Just thought I’d throw that in there.
