With all the talk this week of genuinely interesting new wares from Samsung and HTC, I kinda forgot that Sony Ericsson existed. Does that make me a bad person?
The original Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is officially one of Jan’s favourite phones of all time, so what could be better than a sexy upgrade to the all-new Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S?
The big change here is the 1.4GHz processor. Sony Ericsson promises it’ll deliver “up to 25% faster entertainment” than the original Xperia Arc.
There’s also some sort of “3D sweep panorama” technology, allowing you to view pictures in 3D on your 3D TV (you have one of them, right?) via HDMI.
Otherwise, it’s much the same dealio. The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S has a 4.2in display and 8.1MP camera (which, to be fair, is pretty good), and ships with Gingerbread (Android 2.3).
Nikolaus Scheurer, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson, reckons: “Xperia arc S is the fastest and most entertaining Xperia to date and it clearly demonstrates how the Xperia family are the best smartphones to experience great entertainment services such as Music Unlimited and Video Unlimited.” If you say so, Nik.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S is expected in Q4 in “selected markets”. It’ll be available in Pure White, Midnight Blue, Misty Silver, Gloss Black, and Sakura Pink.
