Sony Ericsson Xperia Play launches with over 60 games

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play launches with over 60 gamesThe PlayStation Phone is far from the best smartphone on the market, so it’s relying heavily on the software/gaming side of things to shift units. A good thing for Sony Ericsson then that the Xperia Play launches with an impressive catalogue of over 60 titles.

The catalogue is comprised of dozens of revamped Android games, tailored to take advantage of the Xperia Play’s slideout controls, as well as half a dozen PlayStation One Classics.

Sony Ericsson cites the likes of Assassins Creed Altair’s Chronicles HD, Splinter Cell, Galaxy On Fire 2 and N.O.V.A. 2 as highlights.

The Xperia Play ships with PSOne Classic Crash Bandicoot, and a further five are available from the PlayStation Suite. They are:

  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Destruction Derby
  • Jumping Jack Flash
  • MediEvil
  • Syphon Filter

We want Metal Gear Solid and Parappa The Rapper please.

Of course, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play also has access to the Android Market, so you can still play Angry Birds and the like.

Hmm, I’m officially tempted…

Head over to the Sony Ericsson site to check out the full list.

@JanSt: Eeek. If anyone want to pay that price they're welcome. I'll wait a few months and see what contracts crop up. :)
