Good lawd, if you thought the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 pre-launch reports were full on, the Sony “Honami” Xperia i1 has been leaked countless times in both pictures and words, and not forgetting the previously purported purple preview.
Again we’re getting a glimpse of the Sony Xperia i1 in action, this time side by side with an iPhone 5 (among various other shots), with apparent confirmation of a white model.
Needless to say, with a display size of 5in, the Sony Xperia i1 absolutely dwarves the 4in iPhone 5, while a snapshot of the rear again confirms the Honami’s 20MP rear camera. As if there was any doubt.
It’s worth noting too that the Sony Xperia i1 appears to be notably bigger than the plain old Sony Xperia Z (despite having the same 5in display), which is possibly on account of the Honami’s rumoured 3,000mAh battery. Yeah, we’ll happily take the extra bulk.
Finally, a mysterious slide (which appears to be projected onto… an office wall?) lists the Sony Xperia i1 with 4K video support, though the 4000 x 2000 resolution has us furrowing our brows.
Sony’s IFA 2013 antics get underway just a few hours before Samsung’s. It’s very much looking like the Sony Xperia i1 vs. the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for star of the show. Oh, or possibly the HTC One Max.
