I saw a Sony Tablet S on sale the other day and wondered if I’d ever buy one. Not on your nellie, man. I have an iPad. *grins smugly and awaits punch in the face…*
Still, I think the Sony Tablet S is great simply for daring to be a wee bit different, and now we’re hearing that it’s getting the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) treatment. Good stuff.
Ice Cream Sandwich for the Sony Tablet S is said to be fairly stock, so you can expect to access notifications directly from the lock screen (with the option to dismiss ‘em, should ye desire), and jump straight to the camera – with all-new panoramic snappage.
There’s one sexy new feature specifically for the Tablet S, however. A few weeks ago, Sony’s Japanese Ice Cream Sandwich press release revealed floating windows for the calculator, browser and remote control. Neato.
That means you can drag the aforementioned around while doing other stuff, with the option to pin them to the side, minimise them, or close them altogether.
The Sony Tablet S, of course, is the one what’s weighted at the top to make it more comfortable to hold, and kinda resembles a folded back magazine.
