Sony Xperia Z to get two new friends, Xperia SP and Xperia L inbound

Sony Xperia Z to get two new friends, Xperia SP and Xperia L inboundThe spanking new Sony Xperia Z is reportedly doing quite well. Heck, even Jan kinda likes it. A little bit. Okay, he doesn’t hate it, which is actually high praise from our resident Irish/German maniac.

In any case, the Japanese manufacturer’s 1080p flagship is reportedly about to get some new company – in the form of the Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L, codenamed HuaShan and Taoshan respectively. Very Mortal Kombat.

Oddly, despite the lack of any official communication from Sony, Amazon UK has raced ahead with a Sony Huashan placeholder, conceding: “We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.” Nice work, Amazon.

Rumoured Sony Xperia SP specs include a 4.55in 720p display and dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.7GHz.

As for the Sony Xperia L, it’s a tad further down the spec ladder, with a 4.3in display and dual-core 1GHz processor.

Both the Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L are tipped to have 8GB internal storage (with microSD support), 8MP rear cameras, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.something).

As Xperiablog reports, retailers have been taking a stab at Sony Xperia SP and Sony Xperia L pricing, but – at this early stage – you might as well make it up yourself.
