Here's an innovative idea - the more of us who express our desire at the release of a new smartphone, the quicker the manufacturer gets its affairs in order and presumably has it on the shelves.
That's actually what Sony appears to be doing with what we're hoping is its Xperia GX handset - putting it on Facebook and tailoring the announcement to how many people 'like' the app - the greater the number, the sooner the announcement. What a great way to spread the word!
If you're not familiar with it, the Xperia GX is an LTE-capable slab with a 720p HD 4.6-inch display which pits is slightly bigger than the Xperia S which we muchos enjoyed our time with earlier this year. It's also had the camera bumped up by a megapixel (why?) and sports a dual-core 1.5GHz processor which naturally powers Ice Cream Sandwich.
The only problem, as we reported a month ago now, is that so far the Xperia GX seems destined only for Japanese shores. But with us and pretty much everyone else keeping our fingers crossed that the Xperia GX or something similar will be heading out for a wider release sometime over the summer, could this be the answer to our prayers?
At present the announcement has already been brought forward by eight days, and is now scheduled for Thursday around 3pm. That no good for you? Then head over to the Facebook page and bring it forward!
