Way back at the beginning of May, I penned Sony Honami with 20MP camera to be Sony Xperia i1? (fairly self-explanatory), and Martin followed up this week with Sony's 20MP Xperia i1 pictured for the first time? (again, does what it says on the tin).
The phone, which might well be the new Sony flagship (getting kinda hard to keep track), is expected to launch on July 4 (# Oh say can you see… #) in France (ca va?), and in the meantime we’re getting another entirely unofficial eye-based preview.
There’s not a whole lot we can garner from the Sony Xperia i1 pictures, though design-wise, it appears to follow very much in the footsteps of the Sony Xperia Z and Sony Xperia Z Ultra – the latter having been announced earlier this week.
In a nutshell, the Sony Xperia i1 sounds like a cross between the Sony Xperia Z (size/display) and Xperia Z Ultra (processor), with the added bonus of a monstrous 20MP camera on the rear.
Proposed Sony Xperia i1 specs include a 5in 1080p display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 3,000mAh (give or take) battery.
The expected July 4 launch is rapidly approaching. Can’t wait? Set your time machines for Thursday next week.
