Sony Xperia Lotus leaked, possible Xperia Active successor

Sony Xperia Lotus leaked, possible Xperia Active successorRemember the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active (pictured), the rugged chap who arrived around the same time as the Xperia Ray last year? Of course you do.

Now we’re hearing that there’s a possible successor in the works, in the form of a little something called the Sony Xperia Lotus.

While the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active was the ST17i/ST17a, the Sony Xperia Lotus is the ST27i/ST27a. The latter’s details have been leaked thanks to a user agent profile on Sony’s site.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active had a 3in 480 x 800 touch display and 1GHz single-core processor. Fairly modest, but the selling point was that it could laugh off water, dust and scratches.

Presumably the Sony Xperia Lotus will be every bit as tough. Known Sony Xperia Lotus specs at this point include an 854 x 480 resolution display and 1GHz dual-core processor.

Oddly, it’s suggested that the Sony Xperia Lotus runs Gingerbread (Android 2.3), but we’d be surprised if it doesn’t get bumped to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) before release. When might that be? Anyone’s guess, at this stage.

Does sony have any phones running ICS yet? I think the tablet S was upgraded it, but that's about it. Which is a bit naughty considering the xperia s has a sticker on the box saying that it's upgradeable to android 4.0...

No I don't think so, read earlier that the Xperia S will get it end May/early June. There are beta versions available for some of the others.
Is a touch odd considering that when the Tablet S got ICS it was said that they had a head start in some respects.
