The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua 8GB only has 1.26GB of free storage space

The more savvy tech users out there will expect that, when it comes to computing devices, you're always going to get a little less storage space than advertised, but this is really pushing the limits of acceptability. It has been discovered that the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, which has 8GB of internal memory, only has 1.26GB of it free before customers even get it in their hands. A report over on the Xperia Blog shows that Android 5.0 takes around 4GB of space, but then a further 2GB is being used by pre-installed applications - most of which cannot be removed. While a microSD card slot is available, it effectively forces users to invest in some expanded memory if they want to take photos or listen to their own MP3s (or, if they're feeling particularly crazy, download a film to watch.) So, consider this a friendly heads-up if you're thinking about getting Sony's mid-range phone (which currently lies around the £200 mark.)
