Making slightly more sense, we’re hearing that there’s a Sony Xperia Tablet Z in the pipeline, intended to be somewhat of a companion to the just-announced Sony Xperia Z. That’s better.
The news comes via a tweet from Xperia Info, and while the page is predominantly in Japanese, the specs are easily extractable.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z specs include a 10.1in HD display (1920 x 1200), 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on OS duties.
There’s also an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front webcam, and 6,000mAh battery, while connectivity includes Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication) and LTE – all squeezed into a device measuring just 6.9mm thick.
To give that figure some context, the iPad mini is comparatively chubby (not really) at 7.2mm.
There’s no specific word on a Sony Xperia Tablet Z release date, but we’re thinking Mobile World Congress is looking like a good bet for its public debut.
