I’m hoping to get through this article without going off on a tangent about the Sony Xperia nomenclature. Instead I’ll direct you to Making sense of the Sony Xperia alphabet.
Where were we? Ah yes, we’re hearing that the Sony Xperia E (Excelsior? Extreme? Enigma?) is heading to the UK in February. Probably.
Sony blew the lid on the "affordable" Xperia E a couple of weeks back, and while it was entirely forthcoming with regards to specs, it neglected to mention Xperia E price or availability.
A Carphone Warehouse Coming Soon page tells us the Sony Xperia E is “expected” in 2013, though that’s “subject to change”.
There’s no mention of Sony Xperia E price, though Carphone Warehouse in Germany is selling it for €159, while the dual-SIM Xperia E Dual goes for €169.
Sony Xperia E specs include a 3.5in display, single-core Snapdragon S1 processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 3.2MP rear camera. On the plus side, it'll rock Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).
Storage on the Sony Xperia E is a modest 4GB, though that’s augmentable via microSD.
And that’s the Sony Xperia E. Let the queues begin!
