Sony Xperia Z worth the £550?

Most Useful Answer matt101101  Jan. 29, 2013 at 00:26

I don't doubt places are asking that much, but it's just not worth it. Wait for the other manufacturers to announce their 2013 flagship models.

Wait, it's definitely not worth £550. Especially without seeing Samsung and HTC's offerings.

Cheaper than that at clove, which is not something you'd see much so suspect Amazon will drop that nearer launch. And Amazon don't even have them til March!

Just £769 from littlewoods ;-)

I have to say: personally I draw the line at £450 or thereabouts. Regardless of brand. Arbitrary? Sure, probably. It's what humans do. Rationale comes AFTER our so-called decision-making ;)

Is it worth £550 compared to a, b or c? Is the glorious Note 2 worth £500 or £19.99 if you just can't handle the size? Is the Lumia 800 worth the discount £140 if you can't stand "Metro" UI? Is the G300 worth £90 if you do NEED a decent camera? Is the iPhone worth anything if you hate Apple and use an OS that can't run iTunes?

There... party-pooped :p

Personally, I'd want to use the Z and whatever alternative I'm considering first before I make my choice. I once walked into a store to buy a K800i - because of it's great camera heritage. I left the store with a Nokia E61 that doesn't even have a camera. It was my main phone for 2 years....

I'd say that was a bad choice the k800i was very good ;)

It was. But as it turned out, the E61 served my needs much better - I just hadn't considered what those needs were until I tried the 2 phones side by side.

We all know this'll be around £420 and under about 3 months after launch.... No point paying this much for the phone on launch (unless you get a good contract deal)
