The Sony Xperia Z1 f appears to be very much a Japanese exclusive, but the manufacturer would be insane to restrict the handset’s availability to its home turf.
The answer? An international variant in the form of the Sony Xperia Z1S. Reading between some admittedly salty lines, it looks like the Sony Xperia Z1S release date might (ahem) fall on November 26, and in the meantime we’re getting a look at some leaked pics.
For those unfamiliar with the phone, it’s essentially a smaller – or “mini” – version of the 5in Sony Xperia Z1 with a 4.3in display, and unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and HTC One mini, it doesn’t scrimp on specs.
Indeed, pretty much the only trade-off is the 720p resolution (as opposed to 1080p full HD), but on a 4.3in display, that’s still an impressive PPI of 342.
Other rumoured Sony Xperia Z1S specs include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and Sony’s 20.7MP rear camera. Sounds pretty freakin’ sweet on paper, huh?
Over on Amazon, there’s a Kolay Sony Xperia Z1S gel case and stylus pack set for release on November 26. Why November 26? Well, it could be the Sony Xperia Z1S release date, but don’t hold your breath. Indeed, Amazon notes: “Please note that release dates are subject to change.”
Having said that, the Sony Xperia Z1S made a brief appearance on Sony’s global site a few days ago ("Oops!"), so we mightn’t have long to wait.
In any case, mobiltelefon.ru has a ton of spanking new Sony Xperia Z1S pictures on which to feasteth thine eyeballs.
