This latest rumour piece throws a spanner in the works, suggesting that the Sony Xperia Z1S name is in fact reserved for a larger version of Sony’s camera-focused handset. What the…?
The Sony Xperia Z1S pic is relayed from xperia.digi-wo.com by the folks at Xperia Blog, and appears to show a device slightly larger and taller than the bog standard Sony Xperia Z1.
As such, it’s speculated that the Sony Xperia Z1S might have a slightly larger display than the 5in Sony Xperia Z1, perhaps between 5.2 and 5.5in. There is, of course, already the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, but it’s way bigger at 6.4in.
Furthermore, the Sony Xperia Z1S could maybe possibly have a resolution of 2560 x 1440, but it’s purely speculation at this point.
In any case, CES 2014 is looking good for the Sony Xperia Z1S launch. The conference gets underway – as always – in January.
And don’t worry if you’re holding out for an international release of Japan’s 4.3in Sony Xperia Z1 f. The diminutive handset is still expected to see a release, just not as the Sony Xperia Z1S. Sony Xperia Z1 mini, perhaps?
