There’s still a ton of confusion surrounding the inevitable Sony Xperia Z1 successor, particularly regarding the name. Is it the Sony Xperia Z1L? Xperia Z2? Is it codenamed Sirius? And if so, is that the same phone as the Sony Xperia D6503?
Consensus is that Sony will unveil some sort of new flagship at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, and the latest rumour proposes an Xperia Z2 with pretty much no bezel around the display.
Ultimately we’re seeing some of the worst blur-o-shots we’ve ever seen in the history of blur-o-shots. These pictures are seriously god-awful. Let’s hope they weren’t taken on a Sony Xperia Z2.
The Sony Xperia Z1 is already right near the top of the spec tree, with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 20.7MP rear camera, so one has to wonder how the Sony Xperia Z2 can improve.
It’s suggested that Sony Xperia Z2 specs might include a 5.2in 1080p display (a stretch of 0.2in, hmm), and a slightly faster variant of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.
And as proposed by these frankly outrageous blur-o-shots, the Sony Xperia Z2 will have next to no bezel.
It all still feels very much up in the air, but hopefully we’ll learn more when – or if – the Sony Xperia Z2 launches at MWC 2014 in three weeks’ time.
