Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet lands in the UK, yours from £399

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet lands in the UK, yours from £399The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet was unveiled around a month ago at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and in a relatively quick turnaround, it’s now on sale in the United Kingdoms.

There are four Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet options in all, and you can grab yourself a piece of the action from a buck under 400 quid, or “£399” as it's commonly known.

Over on the official Sony store, your options are:

  • Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, 16GB Wi-Fi, black - £399
  • Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, 32GB Wi-Fi, black or white - £449
  • Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, 16GB LTE, black - £499 (pre-order only at present)

There’s also the ‘Style Cover Stand for Xperia Z2 Tablet’ in either black or white, for £39 in either case (pun intended).

And can I just add: dear gawd, the navigation on that site is absolutely freakin’ terrible. Horrible stuff.

Anyway! Assuming you’re not put off by the site design, Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet specs include a 10.1in display (1920 x 1200), quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 8MP/2MP camera combo, and KitKat Android 4.4. Oh, and not forgetting Sony’s traditional water- and dust-resistance.

Any takers?

More pixel-dense screen, more expensive camera sensor, possibly a higher quality build (believe the Z2 is a unibody thingy), and it inevitably costs more lumping it all into a smaller package.

The Z2 phone does seem like slightly better value when you consider it'll probably sell for about £500, and that's the same price as the LTE tablet model.
