The Sony Xperia Z2 will officially be available across the UK from the 1st of May – putting to rest fears that Sony's Android flagship would be held up for a while yet due to supply issues.
Even better, several mobile retailers and service providers, including Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U, Vodafone and EE, say they will have the Xperia Z2 in stock as soon as the end of this week.
That's what EE is saying, anyway, though it admits it hasn't actually received any stock as yet, which we presume is why its Xperia Z2 pre-order page still only promises delivery within 28 days at this point.
It's a similar story with Vodafone, which says it expects to be able to fulfil all pre-orders starting next week – the unspoken flipside being that non-pre order customers will have to wait until next month.
Both Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U will also start shipping stock next week, though again just to those who have pre-ordered. Other online retailers such as Amazon and Clove, however, reckon we'll be well into next month before they have the SIM-free Xperia Z2 in stock.
CPW's contract prices start at £42 per month if you're looking not to pay anything for the handset upfront – in fact, it's promising £100 cashback.
Phones4U is offering a free Sony SRS-BTX300 wireless speaker as a sweetener – though with a 5.2in full HD display, 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and 4K video-friendly 20.7MP camera, the Xperia Z2 is sweet enough as it is.
Clove goes one better, tempting you with not only the Sony wireless speaker but also a pair of Sony MDR-NC31EM noise-cancelling headphones should you take the plunge.
The downside is that SIM-free you're looking at a £540 outlay, and will have to wait till the middle of next month for it to arrive.
