Lovely phone. Not perfect, but Sony pretty much nailed it. Size is ridiculously perfect. When you use the 4.7in iPhone 6 and then you take the Z3C it's hard to believe it's 4.6in... It is so much more comfortable to use than the 6.

This is something I've been meaning to rant about for ages. One of my friends has got an iPhone 6 and I just don't get how Apple have managed to make a phone with a relatively small display seem so massive in the hand!? The 6+ is even worse, it's only a tiny bit smaller than a Nexus 6 (I saw a comparison video yesterday), yet only has the same size display as my Note 2. As good as the new iPhones are, they have to be two of the worst packaged phones, in terms of display to overall phone size, I've ever come across. I know the new iPhones have relatively large top and bottom bezels, but I didn't think they would make them feel so big overall, but that's the only explanation I can come up with.

I went for this deal. I was originally holding out for a simfree model but I wanted to try EE and this seemed too good to pass.
Leaving an Xperia T, the first phone I've actually been very happy with, on O2 , the network I've been with continuously since the '90s!
I've only had a few hours with it, it seems very similar but superior. The fact the battery has only dropped to 96% deserves a mention.

yep... I've ranted about the iPhone 6 quite a bit.
In terms of 'feel' it is the worst phone I have ever used.
A 4.7in device oughta be usable with one hand.
I failed to even take one photo in landscape mode using two hands. It's not only huge for a sub 5-incher, it's too thin and ridiculously slippery.
And the buttons are in all the wrong places.
Great cam, great screen, superfast. Designed by an octopus for suction-cups!
I would not take one for free!
I'd rather go for the 6 Plus. At least I could resign to, yes, this requires 2 hands... :p

Put it next to an iPhone 5. That's an even bigger shock - it ain't much bigger at all. They're about the same height with the Z3c being about 20% wider.

I have to echo Jan's statement. The Z3c is brilliant. I'd like to see a more consistent camera, 32GB storage as standard and QI wireless charging on its successor. Aside from that, very little needs improving. I've had mine for almost 2 months now and I can safely say it's the best modern smartphone I've owned.

Very true.
The only thing worse than the iPhone 6 in terms of display size to overall bulk ratio is possibly the BB Z10.
However: it is still nice to handle the Z10 because we're talking 4.3-in screen, and the BB10 OS is well designed - even on the bigger Z30 you rarely need 2 hands.

But to stay on topic: I'm very tempted by the Xperia Z3 Compact.
And though, yes, the camera could be more balanced - the same goes for ALL smartphone cameras. They all have one or two Achilles Heel/s ... The most balanced may well be the iPhone 6 Plus's camera, but then we are back at very awkward handling...
The Lumia 1020 on WP 8.1 may be the best, but it's still not as fast as, say, the One M8 or the iPhones or Note 4. And sometimes speed beats quality.
