We’re eagerly anticipating the next phones from LG, Samsung and HTC, namely the G3, Galaxy S5 Prime and One M8 Prime respectively. But what about Japanese manufacturer Sony?
I’m glad you asked, Jeeves, as we’re hearing the first Sony Xperia Z3 rumours from the Land of the Rising Sun.
That news might irk some who’ve only just gone and picked up the spanking new Sony Xperia Z2, but to be fair, Samsung and HTC are playing much the same game.
Oddly, however, Samsung and HTC appear to be driven by the dawn of QHD smartphone displays, while the Sony Xperia Z3 is tipped to arrive with… 1080p?
Elsewhere, Sony Xperia Z3 specs are about as top-of-the-range as it gets, including a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM, topped off with Sony’s 20.7MP rear camera.
Of course, an Android flagship wouldn’t be an Android flagship without some unique claim (the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a heart rate monitor, the HTC One M8 has two camera lenses, the LG G2 has rear volume buttons…), and in that respect, the Sony Xperia Z3 has you covered.
We’re told the metal Sony Xperia Z3 will rock a PVD coating, which means it’ll have a mirrored effect (see the pic above), and laugh in the face of corrosion, impact and scratches, though the manufacturing process is said to be a little more challenging.
Again, it’s supposedly August for the Sony Xperia Z3 launch, but we’d suggest sneaking off to the toilet and doing a few lines of salt with this one.
