Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact shows up in user manual

Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact shows up in user manualIt’s largely accepted that Sony will launch the Xperia Z3 at IFA 2014, perhaps alongside the Z3 Compact, with a possible appearance from the SmartWatch 3. Room for more ‘3’ action?

A little something by the name of “Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact” appears in the user manual for a Sony Bluetooth speaker, cool as you like. THAT’S NOT A THING. Yet.

In particular, we’re looking at the manual for the Sony BSC10, a Bluetooth speaker with a charging dock that supports “three attachments of different width”.

Appearing in the same category as the Xperia Z2 Tablet and Xperia Z Ultra is the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Sorry, the what?

To be fair, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumour of a spanking new Sony tablet, and indeed we mentioned before that it’s tipped to be of the smaller variety, perhaps something akin to the LG G Pad 8.3.

To date, there’s only been one official Sony “Compact” device, namely the 4.3in Xperia Z1 Compact, which – resolution aside – ably squeezed the specs of the larger Xperia Z1 into a smaller bod.

We’re not sure if there’ll be a non-Compact Xperia Z3 Tablet, but it’s probably fair to say this thing will have decent specs in a purse-friendly size.

The only thing that’s bothering me here slightly is the lack of mention of the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, but maybe – at one point – Sony expected the Z3 Tablet Compact to hit the market first. Or something.

Sony’s IFA keynote is pencilled in for September 3, that’s two weeks from Wednesday. More Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact news then. Maybe.

Makes sense... with some heavily discounted 6in Z-phones, they really really should have a 7in tablet ;)
