September is fast becoming one of the most interesting months in the mobile calendar, largely thanks to Berlin’s annual IFA conference, and not forgetting Apple’s inevitable Month9 shenanigans. iPhone 6, anyone? Samsung Galaxy Note 4?
Sony, too, will likely unveil a whole bunch of new stuff the month after next, and indeed we’re hearing that it’ll hold its IFA 2014 press conference on September 3.
That’s the good word over on XperiaBlog, which fails to mention any particular sources, saying only that they’ve “received word”.
Still, there’s little reason to doubt September 3, it being just a couple of days before IFA gets underway proper (the larger manufacturers traditionally tending to hold press conferences one or two days prior).
More specifically, Sony’s IFA 2014 press conference is tipped to take place from 1615 to 1700 CEST, which is, like, an hour ahead of us, so that’ll be 1515 to 1600 if you’re living in David Cameron’s Britain.
Top contenders for launch at IFA 2014 include the Xperia Z3, continuing Sony’s trend of refreshing its flagship every six(ish) months, and the Xperia Z3 Compact.
We might also meet the Sony SmartWatch 3, though it’s unclear if Sony will continue doing its own thing, or embrace Android Wear. BOW TO GOOGLE. Er, please.
