The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z2 are still pretty fresh, having launched in January and February respectively, but consensus has it the Japanese manufacturer is prepping the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact for IFA in September.
The Sony Xperia Z2 in particular took its sweet time coming to market, keeping potential buyers on edge for several months, but fresh rumour winds suggest the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact could go on sale within weeks of their launch.
That’s the word out of Germany, where a Vodafone competition seemingly offers various prizes, including a Black Friday shopping trip to New York. Not too shabby.
But the thing we mobile guys are interested in is the notion of winning a Sony Xperia Z3 or Xperia Z3 Compact, both of which remain officially unofficial for the time being.
Since the competition runs until 30 September, the obvious inference is that the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact will be available before then. Again, the launch is tipped for IFA 2014 in Berlin, which goes down from September 5 to September 10.
Of course, there’s no confirming the authenticity of the purported Vodafone Germany screenshot, so we’ll be sprinkling copious amounts of salt on our sandwiches this lunchtime.
