We’re expecting Sony to keep a relatively low profile at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 next week, certainly in terms of smartphones, but at the eleventh hour it’s suggested that the Japanese manufacturer might bring along a tablet.
We’re calling it the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, and it might well be launching on March 3 – that’s Tuesday next week.
The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet was “accidentally” (oops!) revealed by the official Xperia Lounge application, and while the reference has since been removed, Xperia Blog has grabbed a cheeky screenshot.
Full Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet specs are elusive, though the screenshot does give away a few bits and pieces.
We have a “stunning 2K display” for starters, though we’re not sure how big that’ll be exactly. The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact being 8in, it’s perhaps reasonable to expect the Xperia Z4 Tablet to measure around 10in diagonally.
There’s also “the latest ultra fast processor” which probably means the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, alongside “industry leading battery performance”.
Finally, the app mentions March 3, suggesting the Sony Xperia Tablet Z4 launch will go down on the second – or arguably third – day of MWC 2015. It’d certainly make sense to let the dust settle on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 launches.
The only thing troubling us is that the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet would arrive before the Xperia Z4 smartphone, the latter currently tipped to arrive in “summer”.
