Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra specs: 13in display, Snapdragon 810, 6GB RAM, 12,100mAh battery

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra specs: 13in display, Snapdragon 810, 6GB RAM, 12,100mAh batterySamsung recently broke through the 12in tablet barrier with the Galaxy Note and Tab Pro 12.2, and Apple is tipped to follow suit next year with a massive-screened iPad Pro.

Not to be outdone, we’re hearing that Sony is prepping a gigantic Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra, and if these leaked specs are to be believed, it’s a freakin’ monster.

Sony’s most recent tablet is the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, with an entirely reasonable display size of 8in. Imagine our shock, then, upon hearing that the Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra will dwarf it by 5in. FIVE INCHES.

Yep, that’s a 13in IPS TRILUMINOUS display (12.97in, to be exact) with an eye-melting resolution of 3840 x 2400.

Powering the Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 2 x 3GB – effectively 6GB – of RAM. SIX GIGABYTES.

Further Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra specs include 64GB storage (presumably expandable), PS4 Remote Play (sign me up, baby), and – get this – a 12,100mAh battery. To give that figure some context, the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 battery is a measly 9,500mAh.

We’re immediately a little sceptical, as the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra specs were initially leaked by Chinese-language PadNews (no offence, China, but we’ve been burned by Chinese whispers before), and on the whole, this thing sounds more like someone’s wet dream than a potential tablet reality.

Having said that, we’re kinda not-so-secretly hoping that this thing is in fact real. All eyes on Sony’s CES 2014 press conference in January, where we might well meet the Xperia Z4 smartphone, too.
