So-so HP phablet and slightly better HP tablet in the pipeline?

So-so HP phablet and slightly better HP tablet in the pipeline? It’s been over two years since HP pulled the plug on webOS, and more recently we heard that the US firm is actively seeking to get rid of its patents, driving a stake through the operating system's heart one final time. Y’know, just for good measure.

But that doesn’t mean HP is done with churning out Android devices, and indeed we’re hearing about two new such thingies: firstly a mediocre-sounding phablet called the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab, and a tablet named the, er, HP Bowser 10 x2.

Both devices are revealed initially in benchmark form (here and here), so you can immediately set your cynicism machines to ‘Hmm’.

Starting with the phablet, HP Slate 6 Voice Tab specs supposedly include a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, 720p resolution, and Jelly Bean Android 4.2 – now two versions behind the latest.

As for the tablet, HP Bowser x2 specs include a quad-core Tegra 4 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, Jelly Bean Android 4.3, and 1920 x 1008 (huh?) resolution.

Assuming they do actually exist and stuff, expect the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab and HP Bowser 10 x2 to fall into the wallet-friendly category, much like the HP Slate 7.

and 1920 x 1008 (huh?) resolution.

IIRC, do android onscreen buttons not claim ~72px off the total resolution?

Bowser X2 specs appear to be pretty good, though the slate 6 voice tab not so much, a quad core A7 is as mentioned Meh, would not even consider it unless it's around a £100.

Curious the Slate 6 is 1212 x 720, so it's missing 68px
