Spotify for iPad coming soonish?

Spotify for iPad coming soonish?A few notable apps took their sweet freakin’ time making the transition from iPhone to iPad. Facebook and Skype, in particular, spring to mind.

Now we’re hearing that Spotify is close to being optimised for the iPad’s big fat 9.7in display. About time.

The latest hint comes from a Swedish technology consultant, who posted what he claims is the first image of the beta version of Spotify for the iPad via Instagram, alongside the words “It’s getting closer!”

From the image, it’s apparent that Spotify for iPad adopts the same overlapping type interface as the likes of Twitter, with - in the leaked image - a list of artists displayed down the side and the corresponding tracks claiming the majority of the screen.

Incidentally, this Swedish guy seems to like his cheesy rock. Judas Priest? Good lord.

As The Verge notes, a Spotify for iPad app is top of the Spotify Community’s Ideas section (by a good stretch), though officially all we’re told is that its status is ‘Planned’.
