Stream TV shows on an iPad

Are there any good resources from streaming TV shows on an iPad?
Or would I need to subscribe to Netflix or something like that?

There are a few apps that stream tv, Tvcatchup use to be very good but it lost a lot of it's channels so is a bit limited now, but it still has BBC 1-3, ITV, 4 and 5 and a few other freeview ones. The other app I use is FilmOn, the quality isn't quite as good (for free), but it does have more channels such as E4, ITV 2 etc. Both apps usually work very well though.

TVPlayer has all the channels as TV Catchup plus some more.

Flipps is also ok, doesn't have regular TV channels but other net channels such as Vimeo and some movie/documentary channels. It can also be used to wirelessly stream your own media (plus their channels) from iPad to TV. Not sure if your TV has to be DLNA though.
