We’ve had a couple of weeks to digest iOS 7 now, it being unveiled a fortnight ago at WWDC 2013, and the jury’s still out on whether or not the pastel party is an improvement over familiar old iOS 6. Or is it?
According to an ongoing poll thingy, users appear to prefer iOS 7 to iOS 6 by a ratio of around 2:1 – as far as the look goes, at least.
The iOS 7 poll is hosted by Polar, and is still going down at the time of writing. Feel free to head over and vote, guy. Doing so reveals the little numbers in question.
At the top right, we have iOS 7’s homescreen beating iOS 6’s by around 600 votes to 300, though it’s less clear cut as we scroll through the individual apps.
The iOS 7 Phone icon utterly destroys the iOS 6 equivalent (9,618 to 2,255 at the time of writing), and it’s a similar story with Mail (8,474 to 3,262) and Music (8,824 to 2,875).
However, users are less impressed with Safari (4,064 iOS 7 to 6,409 iOS 6), Game Center (4,562 to 5,656) and Camera (4,024 to 6,276).
According to sources, the iOS 7 we met at WWDC is very much a work in progress, with elements such as icon design still up in the air.
Aesthetics aside, you can check out my favourite iOS 7 features here. It's almost a wee bit... jailbreaky.
