Would you swap your phone for a free iPhone 5?

People who are happy with their current phone e.g. Matt the Mod with his Samsung Galaxy S II :p Would you swap for a free iPhone 5? You're not allowed to sell it though ;)

"You're not allowed to sell it though"
+ not allowed to give away
+ have to use if for two years as primary phone

I have Xperia Play and DHD phones. I would swap DHD for iPhone 5. Would rather stick with Play due to gamepad. Would not swap anything higher than One X, if I had it.

Yes. I mean I'm currently using a iPhone 4S mainly and well it's been good to me the last 10 months (even though I think iPhones are very overrated). But would definitely swap it for an iPhone 5 for free for obvious reasons, probably would sell the iPhone 5 then and get a Lumia 920. :p

You are not allowed to sell and have to stick with it. I would think Lumia 920 would cost as much as used iPhone 4S 32GB. At lunch it will be overpriced (aren't they all), but drop down in price quickly. Would you swap?
If you can sell iPhone 5 it's a no brainer. Trade it in for profit and get Lumia or Note 2 + Nexus 7.

I too have an xperia play. Would I swap it? No. The gamepad is great with playing roms!

Talking of the new Lumias, they'd be the perfect upgrade for me if I did ever want to get rid of the xperia play, but are too heavy :(

Pondlife  Sep. 27, 2012 at 13:27

But they are about the same weight as the Play oO

Pondlife  Sep. 27, 2012 at 13:30

Surely many i5 owners will only use it for a year though so making someone use it for 2 seems harsh ;)

Does it still have the same rubbish onscreen keyboard btw? Or can you change it?

Oh and if it's a swap it's not really free. ;)

I would be more than happy to swap.

Mnd you I have an iPhone 4 so im probably not really the person this question is aimed at

Ah didn't read the end bit. I agree about the pricing though, which is why I think i'll wait a for a few months after the Lumia 920 comes out, hopefully drops to the contract prices that the SGS3 went to a few months after launch.

But yeah I think I would definitely swap my 4S for a Lumia 920 or iPhone 5 even if I had to keep them, no question about it really. Only 2 phones I would swap it for though (or even add £100 at most towards).

Well, it's pretty obvious that you have to use it as you cannot sell it. I think it's a little harsh to assume that someone would give away £250 phone.

Marcusesp79  Sep. 27, 2012 at 13:57

I still use a Nokia 3120.
An iPhone 5 would be a bit of a downgrade for me.

I have a Nokia 6230i , so would happily swap for an iPhone5!!!

Stubbarama  Sep. 27, 2012 at 14:27

I am not against Apple (have an Ipod Touch & Ipad) and obviously the Iphones are well built etc. But I have a Galaxy Note and the screen size for watching Media, and the flexability that Android gives just wouldnt make me change.

chaz1992  Sep. 27, 2012 at 14:51

But they are about the same weight as the Play oO

...and that's too heavy for a normal phone without something like a gaming pad imo.

*Goes to draw in the kitchen, opens it and picks up a old battered Nokia 6670*

Rect1fy, i'd like to take you up on your offer! :)

With those terms and conditions, I'd keep my S2. If I could swap and then sell on the iPhone I'd do that and get basically a free upgrade from my S2 to a Note 2.

taraweeh  Sep. 27, 2012 at 15:23

Yes I would, but then I currently have an unuseable 3gs that conked out on me after 3years useage and am now on a 3g....and as for using it for two years....no probs, like the tarriff I'm already on so yes yes yes....would swap!

B1zarr0Prim3  Sep. 27, 2012 at 15:34

There is nothing currently on the market that would tempt me to part with my N8.
The only thing that comes close to tempting me, at the moment, isn't on sale yet.

Not without trying it for a week first.

No. More than happy with my Lumia 710, which I switched to from an iPhone4 (and previously a 3G). Switched purely out of choice (nothing broke) as I was disenchanted with Apple and how it conducts itself (or my perceived image of them anyhow) - so I put my money where my mouth was. Went for the 710 as I had heard so many good things about Windows Phones and so thought I'd try it with a cheap and cheerful handset (cost me £100). Very happy - the SatNav and Music in particular were a very pleasant surprise and the OS is so clean and fast. Well impressed (and I don't feel as paranoid as I did when carrying around something that cost £500 or £600 in case I lost it or broke it).

No. I'm very happy with my note.

louiselouise  Sep. 27, 2012 at 17:17

I'd be quite happy to roadtest an iphone 5 but the limitations it has are a dealbreaker. Android has me spoiled.
My Desire HD's camera was a little ropey (Vignette helped a bit: currently trying out Perfectly Clear), and slower (though I had a stupid amount of apps on that phone) but the S3, and 64GB card, have removed most of the niggles I had (apart from the fact I liked the "multitasking" between apps and certain quirks of HTC Sense).
I don't like the "mine's better than yours" brigade, or even those who assume a mobile gives them some sort of kudos.

Kudos, louiselouise :)
