can i switch from orange to another network

hello ppl can i switch from orange to an diffent network like O2 or something because iv been with orange now for 1 year and 24 months but my end date is gone up to 2013 am very mad with them because there wont give me or change my mobile till then I lost my mobile an there wont replace it without paying near 200 pound for a crapy phone am using a basic phone atm and i hate it so much

That would be exactly the same for any network. Perhaps your 'mad' feeling would be better directed at yourself for signing up for a 24 month contract then losing your phone. I know of no other operator who would treat you any differently.......

Not sure. You will probably have to buy your freedom. Pay off whatever outstanding balance there is. It's called CONtract for a reason.

mrew has a point, mate. Every prepay customer who looked at your query probably thought, oh, sure have your cake and eat ours... On bill pay your phone is up to 100% subsidised. Does the word "capitalism" not ring any bells? Nothing is free. If what you are expecting was possible, there'd be oxfam trucks dropping of free iPhones and HTCs every Tuesday at 5pm on the McDonalds carpark where incidentally a happy meal is served free of charge.
