Symbian alive and well on its deathbed

Symbian alive and well on its deathbedNokia and Symbian seem to be featuring quite heavily in the news at the moment. Just a few days ago we reported that pre-orders had begun for the Nokia E7, and now the E6 has popped up again in a series of new pictures.

We’ve seen the QWERTY Nokia E6 a handful of times previously, but this is definitely the most in-depth leak yet. User quick99 on the forum Nokioteca posted several pictures of the Nokia E6, along with a bunch of YouTube videos. The videos have since been pulled, but the pics are still available for all to see.

The new pictures show Symbian^3 running on a 640x480 screen, though the size hasn’t been confirmed yet; somewhere around 2.5-2.8in. On the back of the phone, an “8MPix” camera is clearly visible. It’ll also have a removable battery.

Last week, Nokia’s Purnima Kochikar wrote on Forum.Nokia: “We have been evaluating our Symbian roadmap and now feel confident we will have a strong portfolio of new products during our transition period – i.e. 2011 and 2012.”

So, not quite the end of the road for Symbian just yet.

I'll have to see and use that before I say anything... The E72 was a big disappointment(though not bad per se) after the excellent E71. And I hate white gizmos... And anyhoo: the E7 is coming :D
