Is Three’s All You Can Eat properly unlimited?

Is there a fair usage policy on Three’s All You can Eat data, or is it truly unlimited?

Well I have it, and when I check my usage I still have 1,022Mb on it and I've downloaded tonnes on it. My hubbys iphone is a payg on all for one 15 which is all you can eat data too, and on his my3, his data is down as 99,158Mb and again he's downloaded loads, so definitely looks like it is.

I know on their PAYG tariff it is 80GB so I assume it will be the same for their PAYM

what speed do people get
i get 3.2mbit down and 340 kbps up

CTPAHHIK  Jul. 15, 2011 at 08:35

I wonder how much you have to download before Three starts to complain.

blizzard7  Jul. 15, 2011 at 09:12

They might not even complain, they could just slow down your speeds a bit to reduce your impact on the network.

allan1954  Jul. 17, 2011 at 10:13

all you can eat data from 3 max 80gb per 30 days.

Andy247  Jul. 27, 2011 at 17:05

Not sure which hole people are pulling the 80GB limit from, there's absolutely no restriction on the amount that can be used on the all you can eat plans. There's a customer who used over 1tb in a month, although clearly that's the exception rather than the rule.

CTPAHHIK  Jul. 28, 2011 at 08:35

Andy, do you have any clue how much 1TB is? Where are you getting this information, 1TB a month?

allan1954  Jul. 28, 2011 at 09:19

andy its on 3 website payg all you can eat data max 80 gb per 30days thats the hole i got it from lol.

allan1954  Jul. 28, 2011 at 09:31

1tb= is 1024 gb in 30 days its impossible.

Andy247  Jul. 28, 2011 at 13:59

Yes, I know how much 1TB is, the customer in question was tethering and using a torrent client. I'm not saying it's not rare, but it's happened.
The question doesn't specify PAYG, I assume it's a contract customer and there is no 80GB limit, that's completely false.

CTPAHHIK  Jul. 28, 2011 at 14:57

Andy, 1TB of data is around 400KB/s sustained upload/download from the second monthly cycle is started and until it ends. While it's possible to have torrent running non-stop for a month I have serious doubts that Three UK network is capable of 400KB/s speeds without interruptions. Highest I have ever seen is 350KB/s for a period of 10 minutes - in the middle of the night in central London and excellent service.

Andy247  Jul. 28, 2011 at 15:04

Well if you've not seen it, it can't be true then ;)

Without being totally obvious about where I work and what my role is... I have seen it in Three.

Andy247  Jul. 28, 2011 at 15:41

@allan1954, can you give a link to that page, I genuinely can't find it and we'll need to get it removed.

CTPAHHIK  Jul. 28, 2011 at 17:02

Andy, since you seem to be working for Three. Is it possible to move PAYG credit to monthly contract account?

Andy247  Jul. 28, 2011 at 20:44

It's not possible to transfer it, but if you're taking a new contract out then if you ask they can add the credit manually to the new contract once it's live and remove it from the PAYG account. Because there's no policy for it, you'll likely have to ask to speak to a supervisor or get lucky and speak to someone that's willing to use a bit of common sense.

i have looked every where for the info regarding 80gb in30 days but can not find it i would not post this thread to cause arguments.

allan1954  Jul. 29, 2011 at 22:05

semperi1 where did you get your info about 80 gb in 30 days.

allan1954  Jul. 29, 2011 at 22:26

on giffgaff 3 all you can eat data plan payg there is threads mentioning a person who called 3 customer services and they told him 80 gb in 30 days.

Andy247  Aug. 5, 2011 at 09:49

The only reason I asked was to get it corrected, not to call you a liar. It's definitely not true and is genuinely truly unlimited, despite what you may have read on a competitor's forum :D

Did Three dropped Skype? "Free Skype call for life" is no more?

allan1954  Aug. 6, 2011 at 20:29

allan1954  Aug. 6, 2011 at 20:38
