What does the E mean in the top right of my Nokia C3?

so does it mean your always on the internet because i have a nokia c3 but i dont have internet on my contract and i dont want my bill to be high...

EDGE - sometimes referred to as 2.5G - it means your signal for data transfer (web etc) is faster than 2G but not as fast as 3G. Don't worry, it doesn't stand for 'error' ;)

No, it doesn't mean you're online. The E just indicates EDGE reception/connection.
If you're worried about unwanted connections on your phone, press/hold the call-end button for 5 secs. If your phone's online, you should be offered the option to end the connection.
Also=> in menu - settings - connectivity - find "destinations" or something similar. Find "access points". Edit and delete any internet/wap access points listed. Or edit them to something nonsensical. That way a web connection is impossible.
