A few weeks ago in London, Toshiba displayed a couple of prototype tablets, one with a 7.7in display, and another almost twice the size at 13.3in.
Now the massive beast has popped up again, this time at Toshiba World 2012 in Germany. Ready for specs and suff?
The Toshiba AT330 has a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 5MP/1.3MP camera combo, 32GB internal storage, a microSD slot, HDMI output, and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) on OS duties.
It’s not entirely clear what the resolution is on that monstrous 13.3in display, though it’s thought to be 1920 x 1200. Maybes.
Interestingly, the Toshiba AT330 tablet also features a TV tuner with – wait for it – a pull-out antenna. Amazing.
The fate of the Toshiba AT330 is unknown, as the chat coming out of Toshiba World 2012 seems to reiterate that it’s very much a prototype. Indeed, Toshiba stressed as much in London.
What do you think? Is there a gap - a rather sizeable gap - in the market for a 13.3in tablet? That’d be like carrying around four HTC Flyers taped together. Er, sort of.
